Wedding and henna invitations: organise multiple events clearly
A henna celebration, wedding and family gathering can belong to one story while having different audiences, venues and arrival times. Plan each event separately, then connect the details where it helps guests.

An invitation to one celebration does not automatically include every other event.
Give each event its own clear details
Record a recognisable event name, full date, venue, arrival time and response deadline. Avoid labels such as 'the additional event'. A guest reading on a phone should immediately know which evening each detail belongs to.
Even when two events share a venue, repeat the correct date and time for each. Events after midnight deserve a careful date check, particularly when guests add them to a calendar.
Match households to their invitations
List who is invited to each event and review exceptions: a wedding-only family, friends invited to both celebrations, or only part of a household. Do not rely on free-text instructions to explain differences that the guest list should represent.
Choose one person to confirm invitation changes so both families do not maintain conflicting versions. Preview several representative invitations before sharing links.
- A household invited to one event only.
- A household invited to both celebrations.
- A family with partial attendance or different invited counts.
Count responses separately for each event
Accepting the henna invitation does not confirm wedding attendance. Keep response status and attending counts for each event, including households that answered only one. Each venue needs the count relevant to its own celebration.
Name the event and date in reminders. If a household already answered for the wedding, a generic 'please RSVP' may make them think their earlier answer was lost.
Check the experience behind each link
Open an invitation as a guest without an administrator session. Check that other households' or private events' details are not exposed. Keep personal guest links off public pages and use a dedicated demo when showing an example.
After changing a time or venue, update the correct event and directly notify its invited audience. Editing the website does not ensure that guests who already read it will notice.
Before you finish
- Each event has a clear name, date, time and venue.
- Household invitations were checked for every event.
- Responses and attending counts are separate.
- Each guest link shows the appropriate invitation details.
- Reminders and updates reach the right event audience.
Questions along the way
Do we need separate websites for the henna and wedding?
Not necessarily. Several events can share one invitation experience if their audiences, details and responses remain clear and separate.
What if a family replies only for the wedding?
Leave the other event pending and ask about it explicitly. Accepting one invitation does not confirm attendance at the others.
