What to write in a digital wedding invitation
A digital wedding invitation should make four things clear: who is getting married, when and where to arrive, and how to RSVP. Your wedding website can hold the details guests will want to revisit.

Write the information guests need to attend first. Add your own voice once that is clear.
The details guests should find immediately
Include your names, the day and full date, venue name, reception time and ceremony time if they differ. When including both Hebrew and Gregorian dates, check that they refer to the same event date.
A map link supplements the venue name and address. For a venue with several spaces, name the specific hall or garden. Add a practical detail about access or outdoor conditions only when it will help guests prepare.
- Make it clear who is invited, including partners or children.
- Set an RSVP deadline that works with your venue's final-count deadline.
- Use one clear link for the invitation, event details and response.
A short wording example to make your own
This example is for invitation copy or a personal share message. Replace every bracketed field, then read it aloud. It should sound like something you would actually send.
Dear [household name], We're getting married and would love to celebrate with you! [Couple's names] · [day and date] [Venue] · Reception at [time], ceremony at [time] Details and RSVP by [date]: [personal link] We can't wait to see you.
What belongs in the message, and what belongs on the website
The first message opens the door; the website holds information worth returning to. Your story, schedule, directions and additional wedding events can live there without turning the invitation into a long message.
Automated business messaging on WhatsApp follows the service's template and approval rules. Freely written website copy or a personal share message is not automatically an approved business template. Confirm the delivery method before promising automated messages.
Review it on a phone, as a guest
Open the link on another device while signed out of your own account. Check that names fit, times are readable and the RSVP action is easy to find. Start with one willing tester using an appropriate test link.
For a family invitation, verify exactly who is shown in the response form. For several events, check that the household sees only its invited events. After editing, review the facts again as carefully as the design.
Before you finish
- Names, date and venue match your confirmed booking.
- Reception and ceremony times are distinct where necessary.
- The invitation and RSVP work on a second phone.
- The copy fits your delivery method, including template approval where required.
Questions along the way
Does every detail need to be in the WhatsApp message?
No. Identify the couple and event and provide a clear link. Longer practical information can live on your wedding website.
Can we update details after sharing the invitation?
You can update website content. If the time or venue changes, also notify guests directly; do not assume they will reopen the link.
